Plot

Kitano, an ordinary white-collar guy and wannabe actor, divides his days between frustrating auditions and creative daydreaming. At the same time Beat, a famous actor in yakuza films, moves around movie sets, noodlebars, mah-jong parlors and other emblematic Tokyo settings. Soon Kitano drifts into a mysterious world of fantasy that mixes different aspects of Beat's real life as well as his violent onscreen persona. Multitalented Japanese maverick director/writer/thesp Takeshi Kitano (Hana-Bi, Sonatine & Zatoichi) acts opposite himself, both playing the ordinary guy Kitano and the director's real-life alter-ego, TV and cinema star "Beat" Takeshi.
Takeshis’ entered as the surprise film in Venice Film Festival 2005 and the Masters section in the Toronto Film Festival 2005.

Most of the movie is about a guy dreaming. It's just like a real dream - no coherent story, just confusing images. Halfway through I just wished the movie would end soon.
