Plot

”There will be hardly anyone who will not stagger out of the cinema wiping tears from their eyes...”
EUROPEANFILMS.NET
”…tightly wound and breathtakingly solid Hungarian revolution drama… Cinematography by Buda Gulyás and János Vecsernyés and production design by János Szabolcs are all blockbuster quality. Editing by Éva Gárdos never misses a beat.”
The Guardian UK
”… this is the first film to do some visual justice to what happened in the streets of Budapest, when kids and workers took on the Soviet army and fought them to a standstill (for a while).”
Screen Daily
”…a stirring epic…”
