”Don’t Move is worth any number of seminars on the state of Italian cinema, and is ample proof that there is life in the old dog yet. The cynical might object that this is because of a standout performance by Spanish star Penelope Cruz, who does something akin to Charlize Theron in Monster, sending a career that has been on creative pause since All About My Mother into sudden fast forward by going magnificently ugly and awkward.”
Variety
”A surgeon recalls the crucial moments of his life as his own teenage daughter lies on the operating table, hovering between life and death, in the tense Italian drama “Don’t Move.” In his second outing as a director, top thesp Sergio Castellitto (also playing the surgeon) takes the viewer on an emotion-filled ride and brings a violently masculine perspective to the story. However, it is Penelope Cruz who gives the film’s knockout performance. Wide release in Italy March 12, on 200 prints, should bring Medusa sound returns on a film which is eminently playable offshore”
The New York Times
”'Don't Move' won both Mr. Castellitto and Ms. Cruz best-actor prizes at the David di Donatello awards, Italy's equivalent of the Oscars. Both stars, pushing themselves to the limits, depict a mad passion that begins with a near-rape and continues unabated in ferocity. Ms. Cruz's tumultuous portrayal of a harsh, clutching young woman is revealing for its utter lack of vanity. If the actress has yet to surmount the language barrier in English-language movies, here she is in her full glory as a desperate, impulsive spitfire. The feverish performances give the unhappy story an epic dimension, and the actors' commitment to their roles forcefully brings home that same old message: the flesh is weak.”

”Don't Move may not be for the faint of heart, but anyone with a heart will be moved by it.”

”Now here's a daring version of l'amour fou.”
Wall Street Journal
”Movies as strong and provocative as this one are a special pleasure.”
Rolling Stone Magazine
”A mesmerizing erotic odyssey given gravity and heart by Cruz.”
Hollywood Reporter
”Cruz gives an unforgettable portrayal of a beautifully raw and innocent woman whose capacity for love towers over all who would despoil her.”
