Cool hit man B.B. and his psychotic sidekick Melvin have an elaborate get-rich-quick scheme up their twisted sleeves and a novel technique for recruiting an (unwitting) accomplice. A sinister former opera singer from Turkey who - thanks to his no-nonsense bodyguards - makes more money via racketeering than he ever did with his vocal cords, dotes on a pair of rare fish, who travel with him in an elegant aquarium. Although the Turk is a ruthless man, B.B. and Melvin hope to secretly steal one of the big shot's prized fish and sell it back to him for a king's ransom. Enter Désiré a country bumpkin who collects exotic fish and whom B.B. and Melvin hijack en route to a romantic rendez-vous. Désiré thinks he's about to meet and marry the woman of his dreams, Myrtille with whom he's been enjoying a sizzling correspondence since answering a lonely hearts ad. But unbeknownst to Désiré, Myrtille is in cahoots with B.B. and Melvin. She's the bait they need to turn one fish into one million francs…
