Watermarking
Downloads from Headweb are not infected with copy protection (DRM). DRM limits you as a consumer to use your downloads the way you want. Microsoft DRM is widely used on other download services which means that you need a recent Windows computer to use those services (it's not compatible with Mac or Linux). It also means you can't easily make copies of your downloads and watch on another computer/device and you can't burn the downloads to DVD. Headweb uses a more user friendly alternative to copy protection called watermarking. Watermarking does not limit the way you use your downloads and is a much more user friendly alternative.

What is watermarking?
Watermarking is a way to protect intellectual property. It is not a copy protection, files can be copied any number of times, but every copy will contain the watermark. Downloads are marked with a unique code/serial number when purchased. If a download is spread illegally on the Internet, there is a way to identify the purchaser of that download. The watermarks does not change the movie and it can still be played back in any DVD player.
