Unfortunately this movie was more cool eye-candy effects than a good story, the movie was not bad, but the story written and comments used from actors was a bit cliché, but what more can you expect from a movie like this, the movie was entertainment enough, a movie in the ranks of Volcano, twister, the day after tomorrow..and like any other American nature catastrophe movies out there, its alright, but never fantastic.

I happen to like both this film as well as "The Day After Tomorrow". Also like most of the films made by Roland Emmerich like "10 000 BC" and most of all "Stargate". But, some periods in the middle of the film are quite slow.

Also. If you liked "the day after tomorrow" you'll like this better;)

Basically, it's just another Hollywood style end-of-the-world story, where all known landmarks of the planet are torn apart with computer animation. They've been rolling out this stuff for a few years now, and apparently can't get enough of destroying this planet... The plot? Something you've seen dozens of times already. At times the movie is boring because everything is sooooo familiar from other similar movies. But, from this film category, its still the latest and greatest and thus maybe worth to watch if you digg this genre and massive destruction scenes - some of them where pretty impressive. You'd better watch this flick with a big screen to fully enjoy it.
