Plot
Each house, field or riverbank where a crime is committed is a repository for information for the police and historians who review famous killings or notorious robberies. Each episode retells the story of a famous crime. By using archives, contemporary newspaper reports and photographs, the present day investigators are able to relive the crime for the present day viewers.Murder in Suburbia examines a classic love triangle that rocked suburbia and ended in murder and death for all three protagonists. Edith Thompson had an affair with lodger Fred that resulted in him killing her husband Percy. Although Edith did not participate in the murder, she was hanged for it. While The Blonde Assassin is a tale of sex, lust and jealousy as Ruth Ellis shot dead her unfaithful lover David Blakley outside the Magdala Pub in Hampstead on Easter Sunday. For this crime, she became the last woman to be hanged in Britain.
